Introduction: Located at No. 1 Huaxiang Road, Yeshan Sub-district, Luhe District, Luhe District Farmer Painting Museum has an area of nearly 2,000 m2 and a collection of more than 4,000 works. It mainly focuses on the creation, training, exhibition, workshop, exchange, and industrialization of the original culture and art based on farmer painting. In 2016, Luhefarmer painting was included in the representative list of intangible cultural heritage of Jiangsu Province in 2016; Luhe has been named “Hometown of Modern Chinese Folk Painting” and “Hometown of Chinese Folk Culture and Art” by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
Guizi Mountain Stone Pillar Forest Scenic Area used to be the site for a quarry factory. In 1983, when Xu Keqin, a professor at the Department of Geology, Nanjing University, was conducting geological expedition in the surrounding area, he found a relatively regular stone pillar forest for the first time, which was later taken as a geological expedition site for Nanjing University and other universities.In 1987, it was listed by the city government as one of the 40 famous scenic spots in Nanjing; in August 1996, it was designated as the representative investigation site by the 30thInternational Geological Congress (IGC) and thereafter attracted geologists from 13 countries and regions, including Italy and Denmark, to make field surveys.
Located in the Stone Pillar Forest Scenic Area, the Geological Museum covers an area of 1,200 m2 and is structured with the Luhe National Geopark Multi-Functional Projection Hall, 3D Sand Table Exhibition Hall, Volcano&Stone PillarForestScience Exhibition Hall, Volcanic EruptionDemonstration Hall, Yuhua StoneScience Exhibition Hall, and Geopark Mini-Classroom. It has become an important base for academic tourism and public science education tourism.
