2024 Amazon Global Selling Seller Conference Opens in Nanjing

On December 9, 2024 Amazon Global Selling Seller Conference opened in Nanjing. Mr. Zhou Hongbo, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and Secretary of CPC Nanjing Municipal Committee, met with Eric Broussard, Global Vice President of Amazon and Head of Third Party International Business, and Cindy Tai, Global Vice President of Amazon and Executive President of Global Selling Asia-Pacific, together with the executive team of Amazon, while Mayor Chen Zhichang attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech.

Amazon Global Selling Seller Conference is an annual event for China's cross-border e-commerce industry. With the theme of High-Quality Overseas Business Promoted by Innovation Chain of the Future, the conference focuses on cross-border e-commerce innovation, opportunity expansion and local empowerment, and releases more than 30 new initiatives, aiming at empowering cross-border e-commerce sellers to go global with high quality in a comprehensive manner. The event comprises a number of industry activities and parallel forums, which enable relevant parties to explore a path for the upgrading and innovation of cross-border e-commerce industry.

Mr. Zhou Hongbo congratulated Amazon on the Global Selling Seller Conference's debut in Nanjing. He said that cross-border e-commerce was an important support for cultivating new drivers for foreign trade and serving to build a new development pattern. The conference enabled Amazon to play its role as a top platform for global cross-border e-commerce and further enhanced the openness and influence of Nanjing as an important hub city at the intersection of the Belt and Road Initiative and an international consumption center, leading to complementary advantages and win-win cooperation.

Zhou said that Nanjing hoped to work closely with Amazon, give full play to the advantages of the National Comprehensive Pilot Zone for Cross-border E-commerce, make every effort to create a market-oriented, law-based and internationalized business environment, and actively build an excellent cross-border e-commerce ecosystem. The two sides should join hands to pool trade resources, utilize innovation resources and develop industrial resources properly, and vigorously facilitate enterprises to go abroad and attract foreign investment, so as to jointly promote the high-quality development of cross-border e-commerce.

Chen Zhichang said that Nanjing would thoroughly implement the Three-Year Action Plan for Promoting the High-Quality Development of Cross-Border E-Commerce, support more enterprises to extend their businesses to cross-border e-commerce, and attract well-known cross-border e-commerce enterprises to settle in Nanjing. The city would actively participate in cross-border e-commerce technology innovation, industry integration, standard setting, and strive to become a new hub for cross-border e-commerce development.

He hoped that Amazon would continue to deepen cooperation with Nanjing and foster a more precise and stable supply chain partnership. He also expected the participating enterprises to know more about Nanjing, invest in it, share opportunities and discuss collaborations, and work together to achieve a higher level of mutual benefit and win-win results.

Eric Broussard expressed his gratitude to Nanjing Municipal People’s government for its tremendous support in hosting the conference. He stated that the two sides enjoyed pleasant partnership and great potential for future cooperation. He hoped that the event would create more opportunities for cooperation, such as industrial belt development, brand building, the fostering of service provider network ecology, and cross-border e-commerce talent training, so as to help more enterprises sell their products to the global market at a lower cost and with greater convenience and better services to consumers.

The launching ceremony of the Amazon Global Selling Nanjing Office upgrading was held at the conference, and the Amazon Global Selling China 2025 Annual Strategic Priorities were released. Some guests made keynote speeches.

Si Yong, Director of the Provincial Department of Commerce, Ji Tiejun, Deputy Mayor of Nanjing, and some others participated in relevant activities.
