Krakow is the formercapital of Poland and is now the capital of Lesser Poland Province. The city of Krakow is located on the Vistula River, with a population of about 740,000. It is one of the oldest cities in Central Europe. In 1978, the ancient city of Krakow was included in the World Cultural Heritage List. In 2013, it was selected as the "City of Literature" of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network. Krakow is the largest industrial city and transportation hub in southern Poland, with relatively developed industries such as steel, construction materials, machinery, and food processing.
